Can someone refresh my memory how to start alternative X session from KDM?
I've emerged "windowmaker" (to try it) and I was under impression that it will automatically appears in KDM log-in screen when I restart X-server but it didn't.
How to enable it?

As far as I know kdm looks for Xsession in the directory /usr/share/xsessions/
There are the desktop files, are your sure that there is none for windowmaker? |

They could also be in /etc/X11/Sessions. |

My kdmrc look like this:
Session=/usr/kde/3.5/share/config/kdm/Xsession
SessionsDirs=/usr/share/xsessions
Setup=/usr/kde/3.5/share/config/kdm/Xsetup
If windowmaker would install its .desktop into /etc/X11/Sessions kdm wouldnt find it until you add the directory to the kdmrc (/usr/kde/x.x/share/config/kdm/kdmrc)...just guessing |

Copy /etc/X11/dm/Sessions/wmaker.desktop to /usr/share/xsessions and it should work... |

Yes, that is the solution, thanks
It seems to me they are allover the place:/etc/X11/dm/Sessions/wmaker.desktop
/usr/portage/x11-wm/windowmaker/files/wmaker.desktop
/usr/kde/3.5/share/apps/kdm/sessions/wmaker.desktop
except /usr/share/xsessions |
