I am looking for a PCI gigabit card that works very well with linux. By very well I mean compile and load the module and you are done. Any recommendations? |

I have had good success with an inexpensive USrobotics card.
It is probably the one on the USR website for $24.00, this is the driver I use:
Ethernet controller: U.S. Robotics USR997902 10/100/1000 Mbps PCI Network Card (rev 10) |

Intel works great for me using the kernel's e1000 driver.
Avoid any gigabit cards with Realtek chipsets (they are cheap and easy to find, but they suck). |

It really depends on what you are using it for:
Router/High End Server:
-Intel E1000 (Server edition)
-PCIe
Anything Else:
-Intel E1000 _________________ http://xbmodder.us/ |
