Hi,

I have an Acer 5024WLMi laptop with an AMD64 Turion processor. In /proc/acpi/thermal_zone I have three directories and also three corresponding temperatures. The directories are: TZS0, TZS1, TZSV. I think that TZS0 is my cpu because it increases consistently when the cpu is at 100% load and decreases when doing nothing. But I'm uncertain about the two other measured temperatures. Anyone who can tell me their meaning?

Greetings and thanks,

Termal zones are as such,

Thought this were 'sleep'-states of a mobile processor, not temeratures. Although cooling down would be a consequence.

Well every thermal_zone directory on my computer contains the following files:

Quote:

acerlin ~ # ls /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS*
/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS0:
cooling_mode polling_frequency state temperature trip_points

/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZS1:
cooling_mode polling_frequency state temperature trip_points

/proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZSV:
cooling_mode polling_frequency state temperature trip_points

The 'temperature' file in every zone is constantly updated according to the load of my machine. As far as I can see these three temperature files correspond with measurements of three temperature sensors.

If in a 'sleeping'-state the number of times these thing should/could be checked must come down :!:
Otherwise the whole processor would 'wake-up' to often. 8)
