command line / console yahoo messenger client

buanzo

Hi!

I'm looking for a console / command line based yahoo messenger client that I can use to automate the task of sending messages through it (for an alerting system).

I've already implemented icq (using micq's .micq/scripting feature), jabber (sendxmpp), but I lack yahoo support.

I've seen zinc, which is coded in python and I could write a new one based on it (uses libyahoo2), I've also seen frehoo. Those seem the only two console based ones.

Of course, I tried centericq, but I wasn't able to interface with it in any sensible way. This is for a php/database driven app that runs a site monitoring site.

Any ideas?

And no, I'm not getting paid for doing this

There's a program called curphoo and portage can install it. I don't use it myself, but it seems to be what you're looking for.

yes, that program is just like zinc... I'll see if I can write a new one, with no ncurses, just a simple "connect, await commands via pipe, act" thingy.
