I have 2 computers:
- router (slower, Gentoo Hardened, gcc 3.4 hardened)
- desktop (faster, Gentoo + BMG, gcc 4.1, 3.4)
Is it possible to set distcc for router to use desktop?
What where should I set? |

Uzytkownik,
As it stands now - no. All the contrubuting nodes must gave the same version of gcc installed.
Thats the first thing to fix. Then distcc should work with no special effort, since the preprocessor is always run on the host.
Helpers get told exactly what to do. All the flags are sent with the code to be compiled. _________________ Regards,

I didn't know "run on the same version of gcc" means have the same version or use the same version.
Now I know.
Thank you |

Wouldn't there also be a problem because one of the compilers is using the hardened profile and the other isn't?
I think you might end up with having only half of your source code secured. |

If compiler could be chosen for each host, there wouldn't be any problem... |
