After having issues with the xorg-7.1 ati driver problems, I gave up, tried masking out the ports according to http://xrl.us/nnkk and then emerging xorg-server. Early during the compilation I get a message " * Forcing on xorg-x11 for new enough glxtokens.h...", then "!!! Error: Unrecognized option: x11-xorg". Eventually the compile fails with "configure: error: Xdmx build explicitly requested, but required modules not found."

The same for me :/
I've tried to emerge xorg-7.0 first, but have some problems, so back to xorg-6.8. Then I got some info how to handle with this xorg-7.0 and I'm trying to install it now again.
First, I get the same Error message like you, and a while after the emerge fails.
I haven't got this error before. How to solve this?

EDIT:
To fix that "glxtokens" error, try to unemerge and merge back the "glproto" package.
For the Xdmx problem I still haven't got any cure :/
Whatsoever, it looks like some developers fscked up with dependencies, because some packages won't compile without other packages ["No such file whatever.h"] although they haven't these packages stated in their dependencies :| I have had to manually search for every such *.h file, using "equery belongs somefile.h" and look in which package it is hiding. That one who messed the deps, should fix this as fast as possible.
The other kick is that it seems the X.org developers totally broked backward compatibility of their code, but Gentoo developers forgot to check if the future versions of many X.org packs will be compliant with the actuals. Unfortunatelly, they aren't :/ Probably they should set the dependencies so as the X.org 7.0 packages use other packages only with the apropriate versions, and not above [the higher versions broke it all].
