asterisk: getting 'ztdummy: Unable to register zaptel rtc dr

Putting asterisk on a new amd64 system: crc-ccitt.ko and zaptel.ko loaded fine

myth1 linux # modprobe -kv ztdummy
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.16-gentoo-r9/misc/ztdummy.ko
FATAL: Error inserting ztdummy (/lib/modules/2.6.16-gentoo-r9/misc/ztdummy.ko): Input/output error

and in dmesg:
ztdummy: Unable to register zaptel rtc driver

any ideas?

I suspect your problems are your running 64bit.
I'm using good old 32bit.

You could always get a cheapo x100 card to do the timing for you. I got mine for about 10 UK pounds off ebay.
