|

Made the jump to xorg 7 to reap the rewards of XGL. Followed the XGL howto on gentoo-wiki, and the XGL features seem to be working. However, my keyboard only works in gdm (and on console/remote shells). Once logged into my gnome-session, keystrokes don't seem to have any effect. Opening a gnome-terminal and typing does make the cursor flash, so gnome must be registering the keystrokes, but there's no output.
Here's the keyboard section of my xorg.conf:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard1"
Driver "kbd"
Option "AutoRepeat" "500 30"
Option "XkbModel" "logiink"
Option "XkbLayout" "us"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
EndSection
xorg-x11 was emerged with:
INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse joystick"
I've tried emerging with evdev and specifying evdev as the driver, and changing the XkbModel to pc105 and pc104 (making sure to update the corresponding setting in gnome)... neither change seemed to help any.
One last thing to note: alt-scrollwheel DOES work (alters the transparency level of the in-focus window), so the alt button seems to be working.
I looked through the forums and haven't seen anything that seems to work for this problem, so any advice will be greatly appreciated.
The solution presented in https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-476851.html doesn't work for me unfortunately, so I'm currently at a loss.
Thanks!
