hi.
I recently installed ati drivers for my radeon and mplayer isn;t working since then.
When i try to open a movie from cd i have fatal error: Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device
Code:
It seems there is no Xvideo support for your video card available.
Run 'xvinfo' to verify its Xv support and read DOCS/HTML/en/video.html#xv!
See 'mplayer -vo help' for other (non-xv) video out drivers. Try -vo x11
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

How can i fix it??

Do you have a "video_out" device?

Maybe adding
Code:
Option      "VideoOverlay" "on"

to the 'Device' section of your xorg.conf helps. If I remember correctly the video overlay is disabled by default when using fglrx.

Bye, Val.

EDIT: I was faster, but you were more concise, whiskas.

Most likely, you have OpenGL Overlay enabled in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Try this for a change:
Code:

Option "VideoOverlay" "On"

Add the above line to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf's Device section.

Edit: beat by Tlaloc ;-)
