Hi,
I run amd64 with latest profile 2006.
As usual, I update from time to time my system following the usual path (emerge --sync emerge system emerge -uD world.)
After all was done, I went through the etc-update and got my 35 files updated.
I now boot and get stuck to this error and gentoo does not go anywhere. So, I am stuck at the black boot screen, where all the services are started.
Here is the error:

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Kernel & Hardware.
Looks like a kernel problem, so moved here. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

Hi,
I solved my problem by upgrading my kernel and compiling it again through livecd.
I currently have kernel linux-2.6.16-gentoo-r9. Before I had linux-2.6.15-gentoo-r7
Thanks,
Spiro |
