Ich möchte meine XFS Partition, auf der Gentoo installiert ist, verkleinern. Da XFS vom Haus aus nur Vergrösserung unterstützt, habe ich mir folgende Vorgehensweise überlegt:
- Dateien auf der Gentoo Partition (inkl. Userrechte) mittels tar absichern (tar -cvpf /home/michel/gentoo.tar /)
- die Backup Datei (gentoo.tar) auf eine DVD brennen
- Gentoo minimal CD booten
- Partition löschen und kleinere Partition anlegen
- Backup von der DVD zurückspielen
- GRUB neuinstallieren
Ist diese Vorgehensweise richtig?

- Vielleicht kannst Du noch /proc und /sys ausschließen.
- Hast Du noch andere Partitionen (/home oder so)?
- Wie, das passt ohne z oder j auf eine DVD?
