I can go through the manually process outined in a previous thread but I don't know how to configure gentoo to automatically bring up a interface like eth1 and how to add it to rc-update. Is there a way to have that happen automatically? |

interfaces are brought up via initscripts in /etc/init.d/ and the net scripts are usually symlinks to net.eth0 or net.lo
you could look into making a link like that, I believe it worked well for my atheros pcmcia on my laptop. also remember to add to runlevel with rc-update.
for more specific network setup you might consider using /etc/conf.d/local.start _________________ Configuring a Firewall? Try my iptables configuration
