Looking through google, it seems to happen with the sis900 module, which I use for my SIS NIC. There is some discussion on the kernel lists, but I can't see a solution. Can anybody suggest a fix?

I think I fixed this by downgrading my kernel from linux-2.6.16-gentoo-r9 to linux-2.6.16-gentoo-r7. I've emerged most of xorg-x11 on this kernel with no problems - I didn't get very far with -r9.

If anyone else has this problem with the sis900 module it should be reported as a bug.
