Well after finally getting postfix and courier to talk to mysql and getting squirrelmail working, system users can send/receive mail just fine. Now I'm trying to setup the mysql database using postfixadmin BUT the postfixadmin database that comes with it doesn't work with the configuration given in the gentoo wiki and official gentoo HOWTO on setting up the virtual mail server. My question is is there a generic database that works with both postfixadmin and postfix using the postfix configuration given in the howtos? I tried having postfixadmin use the genericmailsql.sql listed in the gentoo howto but it failed and using the postfixadmin sql file seems to have different tables than what the howto sets up in the mysql-virtual-maps.cf and mysql-virtual.cf files. suggestions for a solution regarding this would be GREATLY appreciated. If you need any config files please ask. _________________ Yeah, I know about the recovery console. Usually, it doesn't do anything more than I can do with a match, a weedwhacker, and a sledgehammer. There's a good install guide for using postfixadmin along with postfix and mysql. I would recommend you have a look at it as you can see how the mysql-table needs to be adjusted to play along with postfixadmin.
Basically it's pretty much the same. I used this guide side-by-side the official Gentoo documentation for my setup, and adjusted paths etc according to the postfixwiki guide. _________________ AMD64 Gentoo Hardened server
