|
|
I have exim set up and it is doing its job routing internal email for me.
However, I have some local mail for root in the queue that is not being delivered, I am getting the following error -:
Apr 16 13:49:09 intranet exim[13276]: 2003-04-16 13:49:09 194pWK-0007MK-00 == root@intranet.europa.lan R=localuser T=local_delivery defer (-52): Retry time not yet reached
What is going on? |

Just a wild guess here, but check your /etc/exim/exim.conf and see if the default option never users = root is present. If it is, mail to root could get stuck.
You could remove this option but the comments above that in exim.conf say this is a "paranoic safey catch".
Another workaround is to redirect e-mail for root to the username that you log on with most of the time. To do this, enable the "system_aliases" router in exim.conf and create an /etc/aliases file with this single line...
...replace myuser with whatever username you log on with. Then mail to root will be flawlessly delivered to that user account. |
