xorg 7.1 fixed not found .. [SOLVED]

Before starting this thread i made sure to read everything ..
not only that i beleive i tried about just everything in the forums and
how-to's . perhaps i missed something in there . but im going nuts.

Yesterday i had the gals to install 7.1 .. ( yes looking for trouble am i not ? )
got but two problems remaining .. one is accel with the voodoo3 ( non blocker )
and the good ole :

Fatal Server Error
could not open default font fixed

so there i went installing corefonts freefonts .. i dont know of many i didnt install.
looked for the fixed fonts .. i cant see them anywhere ..
i went in the /usr/share/fonts/misc i got in the fonts.alias an entry :

fixed -misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso8859-1

when i ls that dir all i have is entries like the following :
ric@ric /usr/share/fonts/misc $ ls
10x20-ISO8859-1.pcf.gz 6x13B-ISO8859-14.pcf.gz 7x14B-ISO8859-8.pcf.gz
10x20-ISO8859-10.pcf.gz 6x13B-ISO8859-15.pcf.gz 7x14B-ISO8859-9.pcf.gz

where am i going wrong ?

font-misc-misc needed yet another reinstall then the cursor was
font-cursor-misc

found another bug .. ctl alt f1 and so on dont work.. but at least i can get mail for now

could not open default cursor font 'cursor'
