Hello. I'm attempting to print from my Mac mini to my Gentoo Box which has a Samsung ML-1710 connected. I can print fine from the Gentoo Box but whenever I print from my Mac mini the job is completed but nothing comes out of the printer. I've googled this with no success. I have found a couple of posts which seem to show the same problem. So far I've updated a lot of packages to no avail. I originally did not have xpdf, so I merged it but still no luck (pdftops is part of the xpdf package).
Similar problem here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-434182.html
I've included some of my CUPS error log. Job 8 was from the Mac Mini and was unsuccessful. Job 9 was from the Gentoo box itself and printed fine. To me it looks like the problem is with pdftops but I don't know anything more than that.

Turns out that updating Ghostscript-ESP in conjunction with other CUPS dependencies made it work. Fantastic. |
