Joysticks and Wine

I have a Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad, and it is connected to the gameport on my Sound Blaster Live! Value soundcard. It works, as I get the expected output from cat /dev/input/js0 when I press buttons on it. There was no problem setting it up or anything.

I'm trying to use it for a game running under WineX 2.1. I've never used Wine before, but the game works (quite well in fact), and it detects that there is a joystick connected. However, the program does not respond to the joystick. I believe this is because the Windows drivers for this specific joystick are not installed.

I'm wondering if there is anyone with experience using joysticks under Wine who could help me with this. Thank you!
