|
|
Hey. I followed the "tute" by qwkbrnfox in https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=41299 to get my quickcam pro installed, and all is well... almost. any image that gets captured is garbled.
When i view it in gqcam, i get 3 copies of the image from the cam across the top of the image generated, with a block of... well, crap, across the bottom. I've not modified the res that it's capturing at, which might be the problem, but if anyone knows better...?
EDIT: removed the image link, because i overwrote it during testing and finally fixed the prob... so it wasn't garbled any more

okies, after much sodding around, i've gone back to pwc8.8, made sure the pwcx module's loaded, and learned a) not to load a philips pcv680k at the same time as the quickcam pro... dunno if it's true for all cams, but for one, it slowed down my machine at startup, and for another, the image was completely garbled still. Also, xawtv and associated utils work well with this cam, while others don't. camE and gqcam don't work, at least for me. |

I'm having the same problem with a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000. Anyone find a solution yet? _________________ Should masochists practice the Golden Rule? |

I was having this problem too. I found this information:
Quote: | I see 3 repeated gray images
In case you don't get one color image but a grayscale image that is repeated three times on a row, the program you are using does not support the VIDEO_PALETTE_YUV420P palette. Contact the author of the program. |
It's from this page: http://www.lavrsen.dk/twiki/bin/view/PWC/FrequentlyAskedQuestionsPWC |
