Terminal Resolution to large!

When i boot up the min install cd to install Gentoo it auto detects my res as being 1028 (wich the laptop can run but doesnt fit the screen) is there a way i can bring the resolution down one level so that i can actually read what im typing?

BTW im trying to install on a Dell Latitude LS

You could try booting the gentoo-nofb kernel
