hey everyone. It's 3am and I'm stumped.... One of those nights....  Anyway, I've been wanting to try a dev kernel for a while, and after many attempts, I've gotten mm-sources to work. I got the nvidia module to work, and so on. However, for some reason, other computers (which run windows) on my network cannot access my samba shares. I have not changed anything within samba, and I know it works, because I can boot back into a 2.4 kernel and my buddy can get to all my music, etc. What gives? I have no clue.... Help! |

hmm, i can't remember any big changes in network section of the dev kernel, and i run 2.5.6x on some mp3 server for a short period of time, so it *should* work.
Can you look into the /var/log/daemon.log and /var/log/samba/log.<clientmame> logfiles for any specific errors ? maybe also set the debug level of samba higher to get some more informative output (5 should be fine) |

I can verify (at least for my setup), that samba works in both mm-sources 2.5.67-mm2 and development-sources 2.5.67. I'll also do the silly mistake check: you have compiled samba into your kernel right? I remember missing options when I was toying with the setups -- for me I couldn't figure out why DMA wasn't working until I realized that I had dropped support for my chipset.
