|
Hey,
Just need some help setting up the nic to run at full gigabit or at least 10/100. Also how do you check what your card is currently set at? and change it. I'm useing a 3ware nic: 3c940 in the box.
Any help would be greatly appricated. |

dmesg | less
it's one of the things that pops in when your system has finished booting ,so you know where to look (offcourse you won't see anything if you don't have the right drivers etc)
when i do it, i see: e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog_task: NIC Link is Up 1000 Mbps Full Duplex (for an intel 1000Mbps card) _________________ Nothing beats a ride on the Gentoo learning curve.

Perhaps this is redundant, but are you running into a Gigabit Switch? When you install the right driver, it will run at whatever speed of network device it's plugged into. _________________ "Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from weak minds." - Albert Einstein |
