Hi!
I'm using ALSA and devfs. Soundcore is compiled as module. I have read a lot about configuring ALSA, devfs, kernel modules but I did not managed to get it work Sound devices are just not automagically registered in /dev/sound* after boot. Everything else is working: TV/FM card, DVD-ROM, CD-RW, network interface, video driver with 3D support, even wheel mouse !
Workaround for now is to start mplayer, choose movie, pressing Play button, mplayer complain about audio not initialised, close mplayer, look in /dev/sound/*, voila, there are my devices (audio, dsp, mixer).
I even put some aplay *.wav file in local.start file. Strange thing was that the sound was played but when I login and checked /dev/sound/* was empty
Any ideas? Anyone? Anything?
Anyway, Gentoo RULES |
