Anyone notice that since KDE 3.5 went stable, if you have KDE's remote desktop server (aka it's VNC server) configured, and you also have a screensaver configured, when you connect in with a vnc/krdc client the screensaver will quit if you do any kind of input, but as soon as you stop typing, moving the mouse whatever, within a second, the screensaver kicks back in? This makes the remote desktop server on a system with a screensaver practically unuseable. |

i'd rather not file a bug with upstream (KDE) until I can verify this actually is a KDE bug and not a bug specific to gentoo's KDE builds. |

Same problem here but with x11vnc running in a remote keyboard/mouse, locally attached screen usage scenario.
After update to KDE 3.5 the screensaver kicks in after a few seconds (regardless of time setting in
Control Center) and will restart one or two seconds after the last key press or mouse move.
It seems KDE does not reset the start-screensaver timer if it does not get the keyboard and mouse events
over a physically attached keyboard/mouse.
Solution: Switched off screen saver . |
