Has anyone been using utorrent under wine? I'm having some trouble with it. Whenever I open a torrent for seeding I get an error message Error: No more fires. Did any of you have to do something special to set it up. |

This isn't an answer to your question but I was curious as to why you want to use utorrent through WINE rather then use one of the many Linux native torrent clients? |

everything should work with ~x86 wine, except for the rss downloader (may also work, haven't really looked at it recently)
i have not had to do anything "special" for it to work, just downloaded the .exe and click twice.
also some people get a flickering utorrent window, but mine has been flickerfree since a couple of wine's ago.
more info on the utorrent forum.
ps
i have tried most of the native torrent apps, i thought rufus was ok but in no way near utorrent. |

Just curious
Did you get utorrent working? On stable or testing wine? How was it working?
Did you get rufus to work at all? _________________ p3k4

I had utorrent working for a while under wine, it just wasn't stable enough, switched to ktorrent as soon as it had DHT. |

I am currently using utorrent through wine on KDE and it works alright except that you can't right click the U: and D: slots on the main window on the bottom to change the upload max speed and download max speed all you get is the menu to enable or disable the dht service, but a workaround is to right click the systray icon. Also minimizing utorrent causes it to resize the right side all the way left almost to the left side, I just double click the systray icon in order to "hide" and "show" utorrent to avoid minimizing. Except those two bugs I haven't had any other problems, also I used utorrent on wine-0.9.18 and 0.9.19 so I don't know how it works on the current stable of wine in portage. _________________ When the plague descends from Heaven above only Darkness will be your one true ally. |

I found if I just disabled the systray icon, utorrent behaved a lot better. _________________ Keith Kastorff |
