Hi,
I have been trying to locate a package for dns lookups without much luck. after trawling through the hundreds of results under emerge --search, i thought I'd have a look on here.
now i know that nslookup is depricated - which is probably why I cant find it, however i also cant locate dig.
I dont really care what package it is, as long as it can query a dns server from command line and display the data in a reasonable fashion.
I supose that if absolutely nescessary i could compile something to do the job, but i find it unlikely that there isn't a package out there which provides standard network tools...
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Stuart |

See whether net-dns/host, which is in portage, suits you (Note: the binary is called hostx )
There is also adnshost (not in portage) http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~ian/adns/ |
