Raname MP3 files using k3b

I have many mp3 file to record (more than 120), but I need that they have a title like: "number - track.mp3", How can I rename all this files using k3b?

You could use a program like easytag to rename the files, or just do it from the CLI.

But I don't want to rename files, only rename they when I am going to record them :|

It seems you want to record the files under a name other than thier current name. I am not aware of any way to do this directly. You could symlink each file though:
Code:

mkdir selection
cd selection
ln -s ../number-artist-track-whatever.mp3 number-track.mp3


then use any burning tool on that directory.

If that is workable search the forum for something like "bulk file renaming". There were a couple of threads about this last year that resulted in a couple of ways to do this sort of thing.

If that's too much trouble , I'd say you're out of luck.

You can rename file directy in K3b. Just right click the file and select rename. (Doesn't change permanent filename)

If you have the track number in the meta info for the mp3, K3B can rename the files internally with using the criteria you choose. Hit the Rename Audio Files button. Wouldn't this work?

Edit: Forget it, that will only name it based on the album track number. What was I thinking. :oops:
