I set RC_BOOTLOG="yes" and emerged showconsole, as requested.

I now have a /var/log/boot.msg, but it's empty.

This is a headless machine, which is why I want to do this. My baselayout is 1.12.1, my showconsole is 1.07. I do not use bootsplash, nor an initrd, nor is my /var on a different partition. This machine is just a small router and firewall.

I noticed I apparently have no blogd-related initscript, just /sbin/blogd. Is this normal.

I did etc-update.

Any ideas?
