when i was trying to install gentoo, during install the setup is halted when installing the libs, right after the grub installation is finished.
it's stuck @ dev_libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.20 (160/231)
i was using the GUI @ the time, no visible error is shown @ log and/or output tabs.
@ this point it won't continue installing the rest of libs after this - just hangs up there.
can anyone tell me to what package is that lib related to, and is there any workaround to make this one install afterall ?
thx in advanced.

what is your install method? any other oddities before/after that one hang-up?
here is more info on the cyrus-sasl package (links and junk)
check the installation media as well, just to make sure. and for mercy's sake stop using '@' !!!!
edit: heer you go, appearently you are trying to install php:
Code: |
# equery depends cyrus-sasl
[ Searching for packages depending on cyrus-sasl... ]
dev-lang/php-5.1.4
|
edit2: so i guess if you want to try and workaround the prob for right now, try not installing php. so the gui installer asks you to pick packages right? if so then try and not install php (this means other things that might depend on php, which in some cases (depending on USE flags, means apache, or even mysql -- anything that may be part of the beloved LAMP (linux apache mysql php ) combo) |

a quick note: that equery output i posted searched for packages that depended on cyrus-sasl that are installed on MY machine, not everything in portage, so there may be another package that depends on cyrus-sasl, but I doubt it will be as common/popular as php. |
