I'm trying to install Gentoo on a MacBook in a Parallels Desktop virtual machine with the minimal install CD. Since I am totally new to both Gentoo Linux and Intel I do not know if I should use the stage3-i686 or stage3-x86 tar ball? The Core Duo is not 64 bit capable as someone suggested in another thread on this forum. So, i686 or x86 on Core Duo?

Both will do, i686 will have some more optimisations for your cpu so it should be a bit faster. If you'll actually notice that is something else. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered
