Is it possible to have the GNOME theme override the KDE theme, for AmaroK, for example? _________________ [ Kawa-kun, new and improved!! ] Alex Libman seems to be more of an anarchist than a libertarian.

No, but there are themes for KDE that imitate GNOME themes, the (IMO) most interesting beeing this one: http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=klearlook

You can also install redhat-artwork, which provides the bluecurve-theme for both KDE and GNOME http://packages.gentoo.org/packages/?category=x11-themes;name=redhat-artwork
