My question is on the following getmailrc option:
Code:

delete_after = 10

The explanation I get for that option at the Getmail site is:
Quote:

Delete messages X days after retrieval

Does that mean it deletes the email on the server or the email stored on my computer in my maildir? I think it means the messages on the server but a confirmation on this would greatly ease my mind.

I assume this means on the server. Gotmail doesn't depend on any one method of delivery (it can use either mbox, maildir, or smtp). Also, other options regarding this tool are geared toward operation of the server.

:lol: The question was about Getmail, not Gotmail. They are two entirely different programs.

Yes the delete_after directive deletes mail off the server. AFIK getmail will never delete mail from your maildirs. That is the job of your client or imap server.

Cool, that's what I wanted to know. Thank you.
