Hi, I just emerge'd enemy-territory and while running 'et' i get this error:
***********************************************************
You are using software Mesa (no hardware acceleration)!
Driver DLL used: libGL.so.1
If this is intentional, add
"+set r_allowSoftwareGL 1"
to the command line when starting the game.
***********************************************************

How do I enable hardware acceleration? Also I tried what it said in the message and the game force me to ctrl+alt+backspace :(

Any help is greatly appreciated :D

You'll need to emerge drivers for your video card. So either ati-drivers or nvidia-glx + nvidia-kernel. Then you need to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf. In the video card's device section change the driver in line 'Driver "something"' to either fglrx or nvidia, depending which one you have. Then restart X server and with some luck it should work. You can test it by running "glxinfo | grep direct" and if the output is "Direct rendering: Yes" it's working.

I'm not suprised software rendering is slow.
It depends; do you have an nvidia or ati card?

How about changing the title of your original post to include [solved]?
