i am downloading the 2006.1 live cd iso.

what i want to do is to install only xfce4 as my WM & not install gnome,kde at all.

1. can i do this in the live cd installtion method?

2. if not then after live cd installation,how do i remove gnome completely & install only xfce4

PS: i am going to install gentoo in vmware,thats y xfce4

Gentoo does not come with a window manager at all, so Gnome is hardly installed by default (Gentoo is not Ubuntu). Just install Gentoo then Xfce.

You should be able to select to install only Xfce, not Gnome from the Gentoo Installer.
