nvsound and s/pdif

Hello. I have ASUS A8N-E mobo with nforce4 ultra chipset and digital and coaxial s/pdif. I connected cable to coaxial s/pdif, but i can't get sound from their. I found many solutions for alsa but i want to use nvsound because it gives more good sound. It is any solution for nvsound. Or i need to compile alsa special for s/pdif???

How is one going to give better sound than the other? If you are using SPDIF then you are piping the audio stream straight to your receiver anyway.
