i have the following problem:
when I use my 3c575 my laptop freezes if i have high net load (>5mb/s)
it does nt accur with other network cards and it does not occur with other distributions
I had the problem with every kernel I used, so, it is not related to the 2.4.20-gentoo-r3 i currently run.
on win2k/xp the card works too, so I expect it the problems are the drivers.
I'm using the 3c59x kernel driver (yes, it does support the 575 even if it is pcmcia and i found no other working driver)
I have pcmcia-cs 3.2.4 installed and running
lcpci:
00:0c.0 CardBus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c475 (rev 80)
02:00.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c575 [Megahertz] 10/100 LAN CardBus (rev 01)
uname -a:
Linux johndoe 2.4.20-gentoo-r3 #5 Wed Apr 16 13:46:32 CEST 2003 i686 Pentium III (Coppermine) GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
i found no other threads with the same problem.
laptop is a gericom nb3420 if that matters somehow... _________________ /(bb|[^b]{2})/ |
