I've followed the gentoo xgl guide (mostly) to the letter, and I still can't get it to work.
I'm currently up to the bit when I have to edit some gconf settings for compiz, however, whenever I try it, the window opens for a second or less and then just closes.
It reports something about unable to open socket for inet6. I'm guessing this might have something to do with xgl and ipv6 support?
After reading various posts on the forums it has said to downgrade from xgl pre20060719 to pre20060619-r3, I've tried that, and it's had absolutely no effect, I also tried downgrading compiz to pre20060714 with no effect.
I have an nVidia card with the official nvidia binaries if that's important. |
