Is it me or was there a linux release of Starfighter 3000 by 3DO?! I just stumbled accross this at linux-gamers.net. I did a little bit of searching and found out that there was also a 'Project: Starfighter' which was produced (similar only in name) This got me a little down, after having been so excited by thinking that one of my old favorites had been ported, but then I came accross this as well. I'm at work right now, and building a new computer as it is, so I may not get the chance to check this out for a little while, but has anyone else come accross this and, if so, is this indeed a port???

Sigh... It looks like this was just a reference to the Project: Starfighter game. I get the impression that whomever owned the rights to Starfighter 3000 released the source a while ago, but I was wrong in thinking that it had been ported. If only dosbox worked a little better :-/ |

Honestly, I've never tried it before, but I'm guessing that I would need to have all of the dos discs in order to do the installation (in that I couldn't download the files offline) I do actually own DOS, but I only have it on floppy and my computer doesn't have a floppy drive attached. |

Well it works fine in dosbox with dynamic core at 40000, incidently thats also how I run Syndicate Wars, which also works great. _________________ Finally, in conclusion, I shall say only this |

40k you say? I'll give that a shot. I could never get the cpu cycles set right and games always ran too fast or too choppy. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks |
