I need my gentoo machine to rename itself based on its name in DHCP/DNS.
In my /etc/conf.d/domainname its set to have DHCP override the localhost.localdomain crap.
What am I missing? _________________ AMD Athlon 64 1.8

Maybe you need to set dhcp options for your interface (this can be done in /etc/conf.d/net)
From dhcpcd man page:
Code: | -D Forces dhcpcd to set domainname of the host to the domainname option supplied by DHCP server. |

here is my dilema... the computers in the lab are named by one interface. But there are twoo nics in each computer. One is just for imaging which I need to be turned off after boot. _________________ AMD Athlon 64 1.8
