ACPI stopped working on 2.6.15, 2.6.16 and 2.6.17 kernels!!!

Since kernel 2.6.15, my acpi doesn't work properly.
it doens't poweroff properly

I am using Asus A7N8-XE with Nforce2 chipset..
in the bios it has suppors for ACPI, ACPI 2.0 and APM... what should I enable or disable?

I tried APM, doesn't work. no poweroff.

I tried nolapic and napic... kernel hungs on booting..

I am using 2.6.14-r7, and it works great... But I don't plan to stick on this one my whole life!!!

I need 2.6.16 functionalities...

anyone can help? please?

should I debug the kernel ACPI?
how to do it properly and data to colect??

Not to be a jerk or any thing but you may want to file a bug that may be the best place to get this issue sorted out.
