Heya,

Having problems with getting a internet connection, its probably sumthing silly i havn't clicked, first time without genkernel.

Ok, i have gentoo working on a identical machine, but i used genkernel,

lspci gives e1000: eth0: e1000_probe: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Connection
e1000: eth0: e1000_watchdog_task: NIC Link is Up 100 Mbps Full Duplex

On the other machine, when i modprobe e1000, i get,

e1000: Unkown symbol pci_disable_msi
e1000: Unkown symbol pci_enable_msi

Any ideas?

This is odd. Which version of the kernel are you using? What is the version of the driver?

You should be able to fix this by enabling CONFIG_PCI_MSI in your kernel configuration (Bus options -> MSI). Although you shouldn't see this even with MSI disabled, since pci_enable/disable_msi are #ifdef-ed in the code.
