OK... hello everybody.
Modprobing, partitioning and the whole enchilada is no problem for me. I untar the tar ball according to the how-to (parameters) and sometime inbetween it will halt saying that it was exiting the tar process due to previous errors.
I have done this with stage 1 + 3. When I do it with stage 1, there will be crucial folders missing after the tar-ing like /lib/modules and others. Same goes for stage 3.
The md5 on my ISO is correct. I have a VIA-chipset socket 370 board with 1, 4 GHz Celeron -- maybe is there an issue with this chipset..? I am installing RC 4 to a SCSI HD attached to an Adaptec 39160 (modprobed that). I don't even know what exactly to post about this, because the "result" is so messed up. |

perhaps a problem with the cd drive - have seen similar a couple of times on old drives with burned cds... _________________ To an engineer the glass is neither half full, nor half empty - it is just twice as big as it needs to be. |

but the stage is always pulled from ibiblio.org normally, it doesn't come from CD. Either way, I made several CDs, just to make sure. |
