Hey all,

I have searched these forums, and Google but can't find exactly what I am looking for. I have two sound cards... onboard and an Envy24 based sound card. I use my headphones in the Envy24, and regular speakers through the onboard.

My question is... how can I select which one is primary? For instance... if I try to play music through Amarok, it will play through the speakers. If I play a game such as Nexuiz, it will come through the headphones. No real control here. I have tried various programs, but can't seem to find one that will set a card as primary, or the ability to disable a card on a whim.

I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Tweek your udev rules to make your intended primary card the "primary" node (the one without the numbers). Other than that, all you can do is tell each program which sound card to use.
