split / cat should work just fine on binary files. |

With a litle configure file editing I got it to compile, and it works great.

I need to split large binary (tar) files. Doesn't split choke on files larger than 2^31? There's no info about the 32 bit issue in the man /info pages so I need to know if there is a replacement in portage.

Hmm, app-misc/lxsplit looks like it might do... Nope... Chokes on my 31,2 GB tar... |

Well, I'm currently in the process of rolling my own 64-bit file splitter. I'll keep you posted... |
