Hi, I tried an emerge -u world, but canceled it for some reasons. After reboot now the start fails with
Code: | Checking root filsystem...
Failed to open the device '/dev/hdd1': No such file or directory |
The hd is working, I can it remount rw and all files are present, except for the files in /dev, there are only some subdirs.
I've booted with knoppix and mounted the hdd1, in this case the /dev dir is ok, all files present. For any reason the gentoo does not read it correctly. I tar'ed with knoppix the /dev and unpacked it under gentoo, so I could work a little bit, but thats not a solution, and after reboot I got the same prob without files.
Please, what I should do? I am quite desperately. |

Maybe emerge udev again would help ? And change the next line to "yes" in /etc/conf.d/rc
Code: | # UDEV OPTION:
# Set to "yes" if you want to save /dev to a tarball on shutdown
# and restore it on startup. This is useful if you have a lot of
# custom device nodes that udev does not handle/know about.
RC_DEVICE_TARBALL="no" |
