Ok I know this is a stupid question, but I haven't been able to figure it out. I went to Desktop->Preferences->Mouse, and choose a different style, but I want the default back and it's not even in the mouse menu. Is there a config file to change? Or could I reinstall the mouse? Anything to change this stupid looking cursor back to normal.

Umm, telling us which window manager / desktop environment you are using might help... ;)

execute
Code:
gconf-editor /desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse

right-click on cursor_theme and cursor_size and choose 'reset to default'

restart gnome.

there's probably a way to change it without restarting gnome, but i don't know that one ;)

Did you mean to say "set as Default" ? There is no option to "reset to default".

Nevermind. I just changed the cursor theme to <no value> and it's back. Oh and I didn't have to restart gnome actually.
