Do you meant you have no connection to internet? Or can you configure net first and then emerge udev?
If you got somekind of net connection you could try boot from a live cd and setup network connection and then emerge the package. Or you could try emerge udev from livecd. However you'll propably get some older version of udev.
Lol, get the network running first. You save a lot of work that way. _________________ Everything can be done. There's just a longer delivery time for impossible projects. |

But the problem is like that, I have problems with booting the new Kernel, which I configured to run the network, the problem is caused by the older version of udev. That why I can´t update it using networkconnection ( |

You could download the ebuild (on the computer you're currently reading this) from here
udev-087-r1 is the latest stable version as noted on that site.
Download that to a flashdrive or a cd or something and boot your gentoo box, mount it, and copy the ebuild to /usr/portage/distfiles.
Then use 'emerge -av udev-087-r1' (or maybe it's =udev-087-r1)
You can do the same process with its deps if it has any. _________________ Sysadmin by trade, geek by choice
