I'll state up front that I can of course do this, but I don't know what the best way to do it actually is.
Basically, I have a bunch of different email accounts that are accessed by POP3. Currently, I'm using Evolution on my laptop to get all the mail and store it. I want to centralize this so that it's stored on one of my internal services machines so that I can access it remotely. So I'll install some web-based mail system, secure it, and then use Evolution on the laptop and my desktops at home. I also want to sort it by account.
The catch is that the volume of mail I receive and store is quite large. Would setting up an IMAP server and some fetchmail scripts be the most effective way to handle this? It seems so, but I don't want a 30 minute wait every time I start Evolution. |
