|
I have a windows computer and a gentoo computer..
Was wondering if I can share internet between each other over a USB connection
So one of them could be the server and have my cable modem and the other can share it using a usb cable...
is this possible??
I know two windows computers can share internet over usb |

Ok. this is really 2 seperate issues I think.
a) You want to set up a network over usb
b) You want to set up one of the machines as a router.
Is that right?

He probably wants to make a network out of USB and not making the machine as a router |

How do you expect the internet to be shared if you don't route it? I'm not sure that that is possible.

I think you'll find that ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) which runs in windows is basically just a very crap router.
Obviously it is easy to set up your gentoo box as a router (and better than the windows box as a router), I don't know about networking over usb though.
