For some reason when I boot up Gentoo right after grub the loading screen comes up and no matter what I do whether it be disable radeon support and enable vesa support it still keeps on hanging on
radeonfb: Found Intel x86 BIOS ROM Image
radeonfb: Retrieved PLL infos from BIOS
radeonfb: Reference=0.00 MHz (RefDiv=0) Memory=200.00 MHz, System=182.53 MHz
radeonfb: PLL min 0 max 924844032
radeonfb: No connector info table detected
radeonfb: Monitor 1 type CRT found
radeonfb: Monitor type 2 no found
I have no idea why this keeps on coming up but this little error won't let me get into gentoo after my first semi successful install minus this little !@#$.
Can anyone give me any help with this?

Have you tried booting without a framebuffer? Just omit it from the kernel line in grub.conf and see what happens. _________________ Time is what keeps everything from happening all at once. |

My kernel line is only "kernel /boot/kernel-2.6 root=/dev/sda3"
So I don't think its the grub.conf that won't let me load gentoo. |

Moved from Installing Gentoo to Kernel & Hardware.
Kernel question, so moved here.
The radeonfb driver is included in your kernel. If you want only vesafb you'll need to reconfigure and recompile your kernel. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered
